The first step in dealing with any legal issue is listening to your story. That is why the first phone call is dedicated mostly to you, and to hearing your story from beginning to end. Are you reacting to a conflict, or pursuing someone for a wrong? Dealing with a government entity or company? Interpreting a contract? Or creating a new company or relationship?
A lawyer may be able to help you in many ways besides going to court or taking over your case. You may only need a neutral third party to negotiate for you. You may need to write a letter clearly outlining your position to get the ball rolling, or you may be able to use other government resources besides courts of law. You may wish to draft a legal document, or you may only need research.
In any situation where you find yourself at risk from a legal perspective, it is important to consult a lawyer to assess your options. I offer a first free consultation. My purpose in this consultation is
- to suggest to you what some of the risks may be,
- to quickly identify problems you can solve on your own or which do not need my help, and
- to let you know what type of problems need more research.
If your problem is appropriate for a further phone appointment, I will let you know how much time I think we need before you decide to sign up. I may also refer you out to a specialist in a particular field who can help you.
